High Desert Minerals
Humans require essential trace elements found in natural, inorganic substances like edible clays. Perhaps the most amazing source of such a clay is PANAK-ITE, a lacustrine (fresh water) sediment stratified with montmorillonite and lignitic silts or humates, quarried by Window Peak Trace Minerals. The humates contain an enviable proportion of fulvic acid that is the bi-product of tiny microbes such as bio-friendly bacteria feeding upon and decomposting decaying vegetable matter. Fulvic acid is actually a separate mineral all together in spite of its common name. It has enviable properties of its own and is being studied independently for its value as a treatment for HIV, heart disease, diabetes, etc. Fulvic acid tends to induce many of the essential trace elements to become suspended between amino acids or hooked onto peptides (protein fragments) found within the organic material of soil. This process is referred to a chelation, coming the the Greek work, "chela" meaning "claw". When elements become chelated to amino acids they are both at the same time more bio-available because amino acids are routinely admitted to penetrate cellular walls, and safer because of the small dosages involved and complexing with other elements that make up minerals. Think of ordinary table salt. Deadly chlorine gas goes through an ionic transformation and becomes chloride, and when in the presence of sodium, a reaction occurs and a mineral results that we can salt (sodium chloride). The salt is now capable of introducing appropriate amounts of chlorine in its ionic state to the system., complexed with sodium which renders it non-toxic.
The synergy between and amongst fulvic acid, minerals, and vitamins (particularly the anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C), amino acids, and so forth, increases the effectiveness of each. Many people buy selective elements such as calcium that they believe are minerals, but these elements can't do the same job for you in isolation or even as part of a simple mixture that they can do when Mother Nature has performed her chemistry on them such as is the case with PANAK-ITE. This clay and humate sediment has been organically processed and layed down by trillions of diatoms, and other forms of plankton, like algae, to produce a balanced mineral source, extremely bio-available and easily absorbable because of its origins. The action of these tiny organisms has changed the chemical bonds of the basic volcanic ash and tuff which introduced the minerals originally, and devitrified its glassy texture, turning it into a soft edible clay. Beware of products high in "silica" (silicon dioxide) because this substance causes silicosis if breathed and is very abrasive to the innards. It is also not readily bioavailable and requires mircronizing and chelation even to be remotely assimilatable by any organism. Even plants must rely on bacteria to convert certain elements like nitrogen in nitrates, and minerals into a soluable form, before they can be effective for metabolism.
High Desert Minerals is not an actual brand at this point. Rather the label you see on your bottle is an example of how to private label your own product. This prototype label provides an example of wording that does not make any outrageous claims while explaining the basics in a professional, conscientious way. Mineral selection is a personal choice. Window Peak Trace Minerals quarries, refines and sells PANAK-ITE as an ingredient for nutritional supplements. Many of its customers add vitamins and other minerals, such as extra calcium (because PANAK-ITE is relatively low in calcium so you can take it along with your special pure coral calcium supplements, etc.) A number of actual brands employing PANAK-ITE as their major ingredient will add glucosamine, MSM and/or condroitin once again because of the synergistic relationship between these ingredients and the clay's own medicinal properties.
High Desert Minerals was selected as an appropriate name for this promotional demonstration because of the location of the Window Peak Trace Minerals quarry at over 4000 feet above sea level at the confluence of the Mojave Desert and Great Basin, in southern Nevada.
High Desert Minerals can be encapsulated in veggie or gelatin caps, or even made into tablets with the addition of other nutruients and or a binder. Usually tablets are made by pressure, so adding something else not as dry as the natural clay helps them to stick together better.
